The Linare Woollen Basotho blanket was designed by Motsamai Moloko, a lecturer at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, in celebration of King Letsie III’s birthday in 2009. The birthday celebration took place in the Leribe district; hence the design features the head of the buffalo which is an icon representing that area. Due the popularity of the blanket, it is still being produced, recently a new on trend black and light grey colourway has been introduced.
