Terms of service
Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 September 2026
Welcome to Africa Blanket. These Terms of Service govern your use of africablanket.co.za and purchases made through our online store.
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Refund Policy.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights available to you under applicable consumer law.
1. Use of This Website
You may use this website to browse our products, obtain information, contact us and place legitimate orders.
You may not use the website for fraudulent, unlawful or abusive purposes, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access systems or information without authorisation.
We may update, suspend or modify parts of the website where reasonably necessary.
2. Product Information
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, photographs and other information on the website are accurate.
Because blankets are textile products, minor variations may occur between production batches. Colours may also appear slightly different depending on photography, lighting and individual display settings.
Reasonable colour or manufacturing variation does not necessarily indicate a defect. However, this does not affect your rights where goods are materially different from their description, incorrectly supplied, defective or otherwise do not meet applicable consumer standards.
3. Availability
All orders are subject to stock availability.
If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you to discuss the available options, which may include waiting for stock, choosing an alternative product or receiving a refund for the unavailable item.
We may fulfil an order in more than one shipment where necessary.
4. Prices and Currency
Prices are displayed in the currency made available through the applicable storefront or market.
Where checkout is processed in South African Rand (ZAR), the final amount payable will be processed in ZAR.
Your bank, card provider or payment provider may apply its own exchange rate or foreign transaction charges where applicable. These charges are outside Africa Blanket's control.
For U.S. customers, applicable import duties for standard U.S. orders are incorporated into the U.S. product pricing as described in our Shipping Policy.
5. Orders
Submitting an order is an offer to purchase the selected goods.
An order is accepted once payment has been successfully processed and the order has been confirmed by Africa Blanket.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
- payment cannot be authorised;
- a product is unavailable;
- pricing or product information contains an obvious error;
- we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity; or
- we cannot lawfully or practically deliver the order.
If we cancel a paid order, the amount paid for the cancelled goods will be refunded.
6. Payment
Payments are processed through the payment methods made available at checkout.
Africa Blanket currently uses Bob Pay as a payment gateway.
Payment information is handled through secure payment-processing systems. Africa Blanket does not receive or store your complete card details where these are processed directly by the payment provider.
Your use of a payment method may also be subject to the payment provider's terms and conditions.
7. Shipping and Delivery
Africa Blanket delivers within South Africa and to selected international destinations.
Shipping charges, available delivery methods and estimated delivery times depend on the destination and are described in our Shipping Policy and, where applicable, at checkout.
Delivery timeframes are estimates and cannot be guaranteed.
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information. Additional costs or delays caused by incorrect information may be the customer's responsibility where permitted by law.
8. United States Orders
U.S. orders are shipped from South Africa with UPS tracking.
Standard U.S. delivery should be allowed approximately 10–20 business days from dispatch.
Applicable import duties for standard U.S. orders are included in our U.S. product pricing, so customers should not be asked to pay additional import charges on delivery.
This treatment concerns import charges and does not represent the collection of U.S. state or local sales tax by Africa Blanket.
Please refer to our Shipping Policy for full details.
9. Other International Orders
International orders may be subject to customs procedures and import requirements in the destination country.
Except where Africa Blanket specifically states otherwise, duties, import taxes or similar charges for destinations outside the United States may be payable by the recipient.
Africa Blanket is not responsible for charges imposed independently by foreign customs or taxation authorities except where we have expressly agreed to include those charges.
10. Returns and Cooling-Off Rights
Returns are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable law.
Where the cooling-off provisions of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act apply to an eligible online purchase, a consumer may cancel without reason or penalty within seven days after receipt of the goods, with the direct cost of returning the goods being the charge that may be levied.
Customers should contact Africa Blanket before returning an item so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.
11. Defective or Non-Conforming Goods
Goods supplied to consumers are subject to the protections provided by applicable consumer law.
Under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act, qualifying goods that fail to meet the required standards may be returned within six months of delivery without penalty and at the supplier's risk and expense. The consumer may direct the supplier to repair or replace the goods or refund the purchase price, subject to the Act.
Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible if you believe an item is defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description.
Photographs may be requested to help us assess the problem and arrange the appropriate remedy.
12. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, website content created by Africa Blanket, including original text, graphics, layout and branding, is owned by or licensed to Africa Blanket.
Certain product names, designs, trademarks, photographs and other intellectual property belong to their respective owners, including Aranda Textile Mills where applicable.
Nothing on this website transfers ownership of any intellectual property to the user.
Content may not be reproduced, republished or commercially exploited without the permission of the applicable rights holder.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may use or link to third-party services, including payment providers, couriers, social-media services and other external websites.
Those services may operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Africa Blanket is not responsible for the content or operation of independent third-party websites outside our control.
14. Privacy
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
We may share information with authorised service providers where necessary to operate the store, process payments, deliver orders, provide customer support, prevent fraud or comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information for unrelated commercial purposes.
15. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, analytics, security, marketing and improving the customer experience.
Information about these technologies and your privacy choices is provided through our Privacy Policy and available privacy or cookie controls.
16. Cancellations
Orders may generally be cancelled before dispatch, subject to applicable law and the status of the order.
Once goods have been dispatched, cancellation or return requests will be dealt with under our Refund Policy and any statutory rights that apply.
17. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Africa Blanket will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, industrial action, transportation disruption, customs delays, infrastructure outages or similar events.
This clause does not remove any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Africa Blanket will not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from circumstances beyond the reasonable scope of the goods or services supplied.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or restricts rights granted to consumers by applicable law.
19. Marketing Communications
If you choose to subscribe to marketing communications from Africa Blanket, you may receive promotional email, SMS or similar communications where permitted.
You may unsubscribe using the method provided in the relevant communication.
Transactional messages concerning your order, payment, delivery or account are not considered promotional messages.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, services, website or legal requirements.
The version published on this website at the time of an order will apply to that transaction unless applicable law provides otherwise.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that may apply to consumers in another jurisdiction.
