This Kharetsa pairs black with light aqua and yolk, bringing a fresher, brighter character to the traditional pattern. The pale aqua opens up the design while the darker ground keeps it well defined.
Kharetsa takes its name from the spiral aloe found in Lesotho’s Maluti Mountains. The design places the spiral aloe at its centre, surrounded by Basotho hat and shield motifs. It has become one of the recognised designs in the Basotho Heritage collection.
