Bella Vita - Dappled Leaves

Wrap yourself in the story of a nation.
The Moshoeshoe Basotho Blanket pays tribute to King Moshoeshoe I, founder of the Basotho nation and a symbol of unity, strength, and wisdom. Woven by Aranda Textiles, South Africa’s premier blanket manufacturer, this piece captures the deep cultural heritage and artistry of Lesotho’s mountain kingdom.

At the heart of the design, four Sotho shields are crossed with clubs and spears — forming a Victoria Cross motif that represents protection and leadership. The central image features King Moshoeshoe I, while the sacred mountain Thaba Bosiu appears along the border — the historic stronghold from which he built his kingdom.

More than a blanket, this is a living symbol of African identity — a connection to tradition, craftsmanship, and pride. Whether displayed as home décor, used in a lodge or guest house, or worn for warmth and ceremony, the Moshoeshoe Basotho Blanket is a true celebration of Basotho heritage.
